Covid-19, The White House, and the US

What if everyone in the US patterned their behavior after White House leaders and role models?

At the time of writing, in the past two weeks alone, roughly 19 people who work in and around the White House have tested positive for Covid-19. Very roughly 400 household staff and 500 political staff work in the White House or visit it regularly. To simplify the math let’s say 20 people who work in and around the White House test positive out of an exposed population of 1000 people. That’s 2% of the “White House population” infected in two weeks. If everyone in the US patterned their behavior after White House role models, in two weeks (with Covid-19 already entrenched throughout the US) approximately 7 million more people in the US would get infected with Covid-19. Based on the US Covid-19 mortality rate to date (2.8%), approximately 200,000 of those newly infected people would die of Covid-19.

If everyone in the US patterns their behavior after White House leaders and role models, we could double the total Covid-19 deaths in the US in just a few weeks.
